Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting or using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent) and capable of entering into legally binding agreements.
2. Nature of Services
- HomeBuddy Services provides an online marketplace that connects users ("Customers") with independent contractors or service providers ("Providers") for home-related and personal services, such as cleaning, handyman tasks, lawn care, and moving assistance.
- We do not directly provide the services listed on the Platform.
- Providers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of HomeBuddy Services.
- We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcomes of services performed by Providers.
3. User Accounts
- To access certain features, you may be required to create an account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details.
- You are liable for all activities under your account.
4. Payments
- All payments are currently made in cash directly after the service is completed.
- Payment is based on the time period booked through the Platform.
- If you require additional time, you must book and confirm availability through the Platform first. Services cannot be extended without booking approval.
- If the work is completed earlier than the booked time, you are still required to pay the full booked amount.
- No partial refunds are offered for unused booked time.
5. User Responsibilities
Customers agree to:
- Provide accurate service details.
- Ensure a safe working environment for Providers.
- Pay the agreed amount at the end of the service.
Providers agree to:
- Perform services with reasonable skill, care, and professionalism.
- Hold any necessary licenses, permits, or insurance required by law.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for illegal purposes.
- Misuse or disrupt the Platform.
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
- Copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of HomeBuddy Services or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
8. Limitation of Liability
- HomeBuddy Services is not responsible for any damages, losses, injuries, or disputes arising from services provided by Providers.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid through the Platform for the relevant service.
9. Cancellation Policy & Refund Policy
- Customers may cancel a booking at least 3 days (72 hours) before the scheduled service to receive a full refund.
- If a booking is cancelled within 2 days (48 hours) of the scheduled service, no refund will be provided.
- Same-day cancellations and no-shows are also non-refundable.
- If a Provider cancels due to unforeseen circumstances, Customers will receive the option to reschedule at no extra cost or receive a full refund.
- All cancellations and rescheduling must be done through the Platform.
10. Privacy Policy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the Platform if you violate these Terms or misuse our services.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the Platform with the updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
